red beaked, long legged duck in Forida

by Dwayne Michael Griffin
(Sebastian, Florida)

A pair of ducks landed on my backyard tree. After sitting in the tree for 10 minutes they dropped down an began to eat the cracked corn cautiously. Then they proceeded to come closer to the house and eat birdseed. They are sleek and very attractive, an almost identical pair with one having the role of lookout with total awareness of it's environment. They have pale red beaks and legs. The legs seem long for a duck but the feet are webbed. Who are these ducks?
