Purple and black bird

Just out and about with My new camera, Fujifilm HS20 exr and saw this pair of birds on a feeder. Not sure what they are. I live in Guelph, ON, but the picture I took of these awesome birds is around the hamilton area.


So if anyone knows what they are, let me know please.
