Predator Bird

This bird I saw was a light grey bird head to toe the size was about the size of a blue jay. I have looked up Coopers hawk and sharp shinned hawk and it did not look like these hawk, as well almost like a swallow look to in. Today is Feb 29, 2012 and Tornados are all over in the south of us in the states. He was trying to pluck the feathers of a small bird when I went out to stop him he was already gone. I live in South-East Ontario.

It might be a Northern Shrike. I live in Eastern Ontario too and I have observed them more frequently this year in our area.
