Possibly a Green or Blue Heron?

by Steve

I do think that this is a Heron also. Yesterday I saw one of them with their neck streched out but by the time I returned with my camera he wouldn't show off his neck any longer. What I find strange is that the rearest water to my house is a river about a mile away. Across the street there is a low wooded area(swamp)but other than that my home is high and dry. I believe these birds were just born and will probably move on to a more suitable enviroment once they get a bit older?
