Pleated woodpeckers apparently have found a home

I have a old cedar split rail fence in my front yard that has been infested with carpenter bees. I have a big walnut tree in the back yard and from time to time I could hear a woodpecker hammering away on some dead branches and catch a glimpse of a woodpecker but this year a family has been feasting, I suspect, on the bee larva in the split rail fence and what a sight in the mornings to watch them go at it.
