Pigeon related or what?

larger than a pigeon, gray body, yellow beak with black tip, yellow/orange feet, banded throat (white) which breaks at the sides of the neck but reappears on the back on the neck. It showed up last spring and did not stick around. It reappeared recently and now we have anywhere from 4 to 6 of them eating up all the bird seed and the smaller birds are visiting less frequently and not as many of them. what are they and what to do?

Pigeon type bird

Hi Vivian. Your description sounds like they are possibly Band Tailed Pigeons. I have occasionally seen they around our area as well. Google Band Tailed Pigeons for photos of them and see if they're a match.
