Pelican on Lake Erie

A few years ago a brown pelican was spotted off our beach in Ashtabula County east of Conneaut, Ohio. A rare sight indeed!

Audubon "boaters" identified it, and chased it into PA waters so both states could claim it. They said a storm off the East Coast drove it up here from the Carolinas.

Never thought I would see a pelican that far north.
