pam

by Pam Young
(Clifton, Va. USA)

small, very bright yellow/almost orange whispy tail feathers.
light grey to pale yellow body
long pointed beak and a very distinct black mask around the eyes (like a Zorro mask)
grey tufted feather, like a cock's comb crown on its head

I think it was a baby and was learning to fly....as it sat very still on a branch, as we approached,,it did not fly until we moved the branch
North Western Pa. wooded area.

Cedar Waxwing?
by: Judy-Seattle

Sounds like a very pretty and interesting bird. Most of your description reminds me of a Cedar Waxwing.
