Overeating

Most hummingbirds don't have to worry about overeating as they require an incredible amount of energy and usually burn off calories at a rapid rate. I don't recall ever seeing an over weight hummer.

They also migrate south each year and can travel thousands of miles and usually winter in South and Central America and cross over large bodies of ocean water as part of their migration.

They are just an amazing little high energy bird.

Enjoy them during the summer while they are still here!!

Don't worry about any of your birds overeating, they won't. Hummingbirds have to consume 5,500-12,000 calories a day because of their high activity level and metabolism. You may see them at your feeder often because of this but they won't dring more than they need.

Depending on where you live some hummers do stay year round but most migrate south
