Not a baby
by: Margaret Mariam

That isn't a new born baby, its a fledgling, covered with feathers and almost ready to be on its own. If you want to help, go buy some bird seed and put it in a shallow tray/dish and some water. It probably doesn't need you to feed it. If you can't get bird seed, you can give it some cheerios, cooked & cooled rice crumbled up, not lumped. Just don't give it any dairy. Its old enough to be able to fly - and it will. Its probably a songbird, and a good thing you're helping it. Songbirds have been dying in huge numbers because of feral and outdoor pet cats and pesticides.

If it hasn't left or appears to not be eating call your local Wildlife Center and see if they will take care of it, for you. I'm in MA if you need more help.
