Woke up yesterday morning to find a group of about a dozen of these large-breasted birds with proportionately small heads and a long tail. Suburban Southern New Jersey backyard attached to wetlands. I have never seen this type of bird, and we get quite a few naturally, and attract others with suet. These guys were nowhere near a food source, and appeared to be pecking at the ice.

Found pecking at the ground. What stood out the most was its white beak with a horizontAL stripe of yellow. Its body was black and white flecks.

We moved last year from Nashville to 20 miles west of the city. Was delighted to have 3 rose breasted grosbeaks at our feeder the other day (Apr 20, 2018)
