Nevada Mystery Bird

by Sandie Brady
(Blue Diamond, Nevada)

This bird was feeding on seeds I put out on the ground and is the same size as a sparrow. The body is the same coloring as a sparrow except for a blue head and dull yellow-orange chest.

It appears that the bird was a Lazuli Bunting still sporting it's winter coat.

HUMMM,

you have me stumped but it most likely is one that was separated from it's migrating flock and it probably is a female because of it's dull coloring. Hopefully someone who knows what she is will speak up.
