Nesting Pair

by Kathy F.

I have a pair of flickers that worked for DAYS excavating a nesting cavity in a tree in my yard. Two days ago starlings began tossing the chips out of their hole. I have not seen the flickers since - do you suppose they were chased away by the starlings????

Yes, I do think that's what happened. Our neighbor had a bat take over the home the Flickers had made!
