Nesting Mourning Doves

I have two mourning doves nesting on our backyard patio, I noticed them a couple of weeks ago when i saw a bunch of sticks covering the ground.

I then noticed the nest and I watch them rotate laying on their eggs. today I chased off a blue jay that was attacking them.

I have found myself growing very protective of them. We have rain coming and the nest is very flimsy.
