phoebe like bird
by: roma

it took me a while but since you know what a black phoebe is, but i found a discription of a flycatcher
with a slight crest. it is called a Coues, flycatcher. guide says a large headed dark flycatcher favoring highland coniferous forests favoring pine and pine oaks. it says range is reaching into southern arizona and new mexico but this book is old. with all the rain this year, maybe it got to you, since you are at the base of the sierras. have been to porterville, giant sequoias.
