Mystery bird in eastern Massachusetts

by Muriel
(Massachusetts)

I just saw a bird from the back only. It was the size of a robin and was with a few robins in my backyard. It was a gray and tan color like a tabby cat. It had a red ring at the base of the neck between the neck and back. Sorry no photo.
