My rose breasted grosbeaks

by Judy
(Maine)

I have grosbeaks every year.I think they only have one mate but not sure. They are amazingly beautiful! I have two male and three female so I guess one doesn't have a mate. They had their babies and now all four baby's are at my feeders at the same time. I was in the house and I heard a loud thug on the house and my dog also did because she looked up at the window at the same time. I didn't go out to see what it was,but later I found out what it was a baby it was on my porch it wasn't moving I yelled for my husband he came out and picked her up and laid her in the shade she was breathing later she died. I saw her dead and it upset me the rest of the day.

My grosbeaks are special they bring alot of joy I hope mom has more babies this year and bring more to my feeders.
My grosbeaks love all my feeders one has nuts and berries one has black oil seed and one has safflower seed they love them all.
Thank you for your time I will let you know if a mom has more babies.
