We moved to Pembroke Pines,FL about two years ago. Our house had some palm trees on the backyard, my husband was about to remove one of them when I noticed it had this hole in it and for some reason I told him to leave the palm there. Well, next thing I know on that coming Spring I was cleaning my porch when I heard some noise coming out of the hole. To my surprise there where two tiny bird heads picking out of the hole and they were making tons of noises!
Little after that I saw what I thought was the mother bringing them food. She would fly out and return every time with something on her beak. She would reach out to the little ones and feed them. It was an amazing thing to witness!
I am so glad we decided to keep the palm. Now every Spring we can see them nesting! They are truly amazing birds. I have learned a lot about them just by watching them. I did have the chance to take some pics that day, I hope you enjoy them!
