My Little Angels year round!

by Kathy

We started feeding birds about 6 years ago. At first, all we had were Cardinals and Sparrows. Once in awhile we got Blue Jays and then the Doves started coming. I played with all kinds of food to see what I could attract.

That Summer about 6 years ago, my Grandson had given me a packet of seeds. They were Cosmo's. I was sitting on my front porch one morning and this darling little yellow and black bird landed in my Magnolia and was singing away! Then I noticed he landed on my Cosmo's. He started nibbling, then singing, then nibbling again. It was almost as if he was saying Thank you!

We then started hanging the socks with the Niger seed in it. Oh my goodness, we started getting more and more! I don't know how they survive the Winter here along Lake Ontario, but I still have a bundle of them. We purchased the metal Niger seed holders and those delightful little birds come all Winter long. When I walk out to the mailbox, they sing to me and I truly believe they are saying Thank you!
