My First Rose Breasted Grosbeak

by Melinda
(Armagh, PA USA)

I have 3 feeders and 2 suet blocks hanging from a Butternut tree outside my living room window. I love to watch what kinds of birds come to eat.

This morning while walking past the window I spotted this black/white and red bird perched on a limb just watching what was going on around him. I have never seen one of these before. He is beautiful.

He has been back several times since this morning, but I have not seen the female yet. I will patiently watch and wait though.

My first visit from a Male Grosbeak NEW
by: Penkitty

I have a few feeders hanging from shepards hook in my yard. This morning (May 3rd), I walked past my window and saw a beautiful looking bird that I had never seen before. I looked it up on line and found that I was visited by a male Rose Breasted Grosbeak. I was so happy. I have not yet seen a female. Maybe soon.
