My birds

Every year I wait for the beautiful Grosbeaks to return to my feeders. I always put out black oiled sunflower seeds.its usually early May. I first notice the males. Soon the beautiful fawn colored females arrive. Some people call the females drab. I think their beauty reminds me of a fawn . Their beauty is amazing. I am thrilled to see the parents bring the young birds to my feeders. I know they will be leaving soon. I must wait another year for their return.

Hate to see them go NEW
by: Maureen

It's only the middle of July and my Rosies have taken off for the Carolina's, Tennessee, and Kentucky already. Slowly working there way back down south where they will wait a few months and cross the Gulf of Mexico for their winter haunts. Now I see one here and there, usually in the evening and I know he/she is just passing through following the others. Next will be the Towhees. Sad.
