I noticed a bird in the dogwood bush that kept going from the ground to the bush. It was a bit smaller than a mourning dove and is a ground feeder as it did not go on any of my numerous feeders. It had a white stripe in the middle of its head with black stripes on either side of the middle white stripe and then two white stripes on the outside of the black stripes on the head. The majority of the body was grey like a pigeon and the wings were mostly brown but seemed to have some color in them. I have only seen one like it and it is not in my Ontario bird book. Any ideas? Thanks
