(Identification help in middle Tennessee)

saw probably hundreds of big migrating birds pass high overhead, in Vs, lines and undulating clumps. Darkish birds with pale wings and what looked like long beaks, making a faint warbling sound instead of honking. Any clues?

Sounds like starlings moving in whats called a murmuration... google it and you will see pics of the birds and pics of the formation...
