Michigan bird

by Jackson
(Flint, MI)

This bird is about the same size to a morning dove, maybe a little smaller with a grey head and breast. The back was brown all the way to the tail with black spots. The wings were brown with darker stripes of brown on it. Underneath the wings it had black and white speckles on it. The beak was longer. I have searched and searched and can't find anything that looks like this bird. I'm not sure if the bird is just passing through, but I have looked at the native birds of Michigan and can't find anything like it. Any help would be great.
