Male Rose Breasted Grosbeak

We have only had our feeder for a year. First time to see a Rose Breasted Grosbeak. His colors were so vibrant! Just saw him once so far, May 3 2016 in Texas (south of Houston). We have sunflower seeds but didn't see him eat anything.

Lucky you, we only have Black-headed and evening grosbeaks here in the PNW but they stay in during breeding season

    Small dusky or dark gray bird, 3 to 4 inches, with a fan shaped tail. The tail had 2 yellow triangle markings, which were about 3/4 to 1 inch each.
