Making a home

by Serena
(Massachusetts)

There is a woodpecker making a home in one of my backyard trees. It has a red colored fur on it's head running down to the beak.
It has taken him/her 3-4 days to make this home. In my backyard there are little chippings on the ground. It is so amazing how that petite thin beak can make such a precise hole. At this very moment he/she is perched beside the hole.

Your woodpeckers
by: Judy-Serena

That is so neat to be able to watch the woodpeckers nesting. Do you think you could take a picture of one of them and post it here? We could then indentify what of woodpecker you have.
