Louisiana bird under carport at night

Small 2-3 inch fluffball, brown with white spots, slender tail with dark stripes. Can anyone identify?

Just discovered one of these at my house in Florida. Keeps coming back at night to the same spot. Someone suggested it was a baby falcon. Would love to find out what it is!

I have one under my front porch, just showed up this week. I have never seen one before. I live in South Carolina 20 min from the coast. I wouls like to know what it is also. He/she is so cute. What can I do to attract more?
