Louisiana bird under carport at night


Small 2-3 inch fluffball, brown with white spots, slender tail with dark stripes. Can anyone identify?

We live in Alvin 12 miles north from the cost we seen 2 sleeping same spot 2 nights didn't come back.

I live in Ohio and just came home from the store and there were like 10 our 20 of these on my roof rubbing their beaks on the edge.

Bird is resting bill on its back but you can see the light eye stripe and black lines on the back.

Just discovered one of these at my house in Florida. Keeps coming back at night to the same spot. Someone suggested it was a baby falcon. Would love to find out what it is!

I have one under my front porch, just showed up this week. I have never seen one before. I live in South Carolina 20 min from the coast. I wouls like to know what it is also. He/she is so cute. What can I do to attract more?
