loud squawking bird sound

by Patrice
(York, Maine)

We have a very loud bird sound that is new to our backyard wooded area this year. The squawking sound repeats 3 times at the same pitch and is a bit scruffy sounding...nothing like the smooth sound of an owl. I have not been able to see the bird but it's call resonates over the air often times several times a day.

I'd love to know what it is!

Thanks!

Patrice
