I have 2 mourning doves on my front porch. They built a nest and she laid 2 eggs about 4 or 5 days ago. But neither one of the birds have started to incubate them yet? I've heard that sometimes they wait a little while. Is this true? And wouldn't they have started to incubate them already? I'm worried about the eggs. Would the mom and dad know that the eggs are duds and that's why they haven't been sitting on them?

Thanks for your help
