Larger bird with red head and back..hawk .

There are two of them that I am pretty sure are making a nest in a whole in the tree. Larger in size reddish colored back and when I shot a picture I noticed wings and body made an m. I know picture is bad but the bird is very fast. Sorry can't fix upside down picture

It's me again. I was looking at a map and read that in San jacinto there are 319 species of birds. I would call your local Audubon Society or send them your pic they will probably be able to ID it right away.

I'm not sure if you are asking or telling us that this is a hawk.

How many robins would it take to make up the size of this bird, or approximately how long is the bird?

Have you been able to see other color markings since this last post?

I don't know where hemet is can you tell us about the area....lakes, rivers, what kind of trees? Anything might help

    Small dusky or dark gray bird, 3 to 4 inches, with a fan shaped tail. The tail had 2 yellow triangle markings, which were about 3/4 to 1 inch each.
