Large white bird in Guelph ontario

This bird looked like an egret. Size slightly smaller than a Blue Heron. It was mostly white with black tips on it's wings.

The most distinguishing feature was that it had a large red dot on the underside of each wing. It look like a Japanees Zero Airplane. There were other Herons in the area with it.
So I was not sure if it was a young Heron or an Egret.
