Large grey bird in Louisiana

by Nicholas Martinez
(Shreveport, LA)

It was a large grey bird with a white head and I think it may have had some blue on its head. It was about the size of a turkey hen. It was walking on the ground near a trail that had a lot of water on it and was picking up worms from the ground, they were not very scared of humans, but when startled the ran off instead of flying. We where in Central/ West Louisiana about 5 miles east of the Sabine lake.
