Lack of Birds

We are temporarily nesting in Key Largo FL and I want to know what yard birds we might be able to attract and more importantly, HOW.
I bought a birdbath with a fountain for moving water.
I put out a fruit feeder.
I put out a suet feeder.
No birds will pay any attention to the feeders and the ONLY bird so far to visit the bath is a Boat Tailed Grackle family - and even they are very very shy. I'm not fond of these grackle but I'm trying to appreciate them as that seems to be all I can attract.
I spot a Mockingbird or two every day but I cant seem to attract them to the water or the feeders.
In the past, I've spotted pileated woodpeckers and a very occasional red bird (maybe twice in 3 years) so I know they must be here somewhere.
I have read that a Mango Hummingbird supposedly lives here but I never have seen a hummingbird here either.
I cant seem to find anything online about birds in Key Largo, other than sea birds.
Can anyone please share some helpful info?
