Is this an Oriole

by Mary
(Faribault, Mn.)

This bird lands on our Hummingbird feeder every day. I think it is an Oriole. I will try and post a picture.

Common
Yes, that is a Baltimore Oriole. Everytime I see one I think of the poem by Edgar Fawcett;

How falls it, oriole, thou hast come to fly

In tropic splendor through our Northern sky

At some glad moment was it Nature's choice

To dower a scrap of sunset with a voice?

Happy Birding,
Susan
