I saw a bird on a deer kill. I was hunting deer in Northwestern Ontario near Kenora a couple weeks ago. Wolfs had killed a deer as it tried to cross a beaver dam and went through the ice and got hung up. As I went by this dead deer a large bird, golden eagle large, was the last to leave. Now I'm pretty sure it had green on it but I'm very sure the head was feathered jet black. Distinctly different color from the rest of the body. As it flew over me the head looked slender like the vulture I pictured below but the colors are wrong from any vulture I've see pictured.
