Hummers At Feeder

Today I finally put my humming bird feeder up and at 7:00 am a pair of Ruby-throated hummingbirds arrived and came back and forth, about 20 times in one day.

They came the first day that I put the feeder out! For me that has never happened before. It was very exciting. They would come to drink then they would go on the clothesline, sit for a bit, then eat again. I hope they make a nest and have babies.

3 Hummers per feeder
by: Anonymous

Hi, I have 2 feeders out and I have observed these Hummers for some 3 years now and their is 3 hummers per feeder with usually the smallest one that GUARDS the feeder and several fights ensue when another hummer attempts to feed. Their fight in mid air kind of looks like sword fighting. I don't think anyone gets hurt though. Just my 2 cents worth.
