Help!! What kind of bird is this

While visiting the coast in Brookings Oregon, I noticed an approx. 5in. bird. It was roosting in the evenings in the eaves of our cabin near fresh water creek. It was blueish grey in color and had a very, very short tail. It had small eyes.

Cliff Swallow?

My first thought was that your bird could be a Nuthatch because they have short tails. But since it is roosting under the eaves, I think it is more likely a Cliff Swallow. Does it have a a dark-chestnut throat and whitish underparts?
