hawaii indian bird

I found this Hawaii Indian Bird on the ground with a broken wing, so I picked it up and brought it home, It seems to be a very young bird at that. I am hand feeding him and the bird always swallows the food that I'm giving to it.

When I first got the bird, the bird was acting very weak, but since I've been feeding the bird, it always opens it's mouth now that I'm hand feeding this bird. I cannot find any info. on this Hawaii Indian Bird, the local people here in Honolulu, Hawaii tell me that this is the name of this bird. I would appreciate it if you could provide any info on this bird. Thank you, Kyong-Cha Kubina
