Have you seen this bird?

A somewhat hefty dove type bird with a long-ish beak, like a sandpiper. It had a short tail, and brown and white feathers that resemble a quail in pattern. It had a beige front with a lovely black chest plate and what looks like a red kerchief on its back. It was active on the ground, eating seeds, I suppose. Its back, under its wings, was white.


I saw it in the late morning on my lawn in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. It was raining.

    It is grey with a long beak and a white ring around it's neck. The bird is about the size of a dove and I live in Florida near the Georgia line.
