grey/brown bird with red and yellow

by Tricia Brown

I saw a grey or brown medium sized bird with a red stripe on it's wing. It had a peaked cap like a cardinal, and when it flew it's tail fanned out and had a yellow stripe at the end of it's tail feathers. I would love to know what this bird is. I saw this in central Illinois.
