Grey Jays

by Bill O'Donnell
(Miramichi NB)

Here in the Atlantic provinces of Canada must people refer to this bird as Moosebirds. Many stories refer to lumber persons cutting wood and have these bird eat out of their hand. As soon as they start a fire to boil their tea, these birds would arrive. At my home in the country of NB, as soon as I start the wood stove and the smoke raises they will come. They seem very nice and never seen them fight over food with each other. Bill
