I had a hundreds of small green bodied black headed birds in my pine trees in Naples Florida. I have never seen them before and have no idea what they are.

by: Pam

Just had one in my backyard today in flagler beach FL. Never seen before. plump with black head and bright green body. very cute. not tiny but smaller than cardinal. I get painted buntings but have never seen this bird. very pretty! Let me know if anyone knows what this bird is. thank you.

I have seen them too. In my lake house they are coming during the winter months. The head is very black and the body very green. a very clear sharp line separate the green and the black. I think they come to Texas looking for relief from cold whether but I am just guessing. Haven't found much information on them at all.
