Grayish buff colored bird with orange-tipped tail

by Kris
(Oxford, MI)

This bird was spotted plucking spider webs from my house (for it's nest?) in Michigan. It had a body like a cardinal with a batman-like mask. The male or female had orange-tipped tail feathers. It's body was a grayish tan color.

Thank you Donna! That is it. I am not normally a bird watcher, so this one struck me since I have never noticed it before. I see now that it is a common bird...

I posted before and don't see my comment. It sounds like you are describing a cedar waxwing. Look for a picture of it on the internet and see if it matches!
