Glad I'm not the only one

by Lana Hietje
(Croswell, MI)

I had to go to Saginaw today and while traveling on I-75 I saw what looked to be a snow white heron fly over the express way. I made a mental note of where we were and so when we were on our way back (I had my camera in hand) I was watching the skies for any Heron, and finally I saw a great Blue. I watched where he landed and we exited off the express way and found the pond and I was so very surprised to find 6 while herons, at least that is what they looked like to me. I was in Saginaw yesterday and thought I saw one, but wasn't sure, so today I was on the look out.

Great photos!

Lana, they are all fantastic photos of the herons in flight. We have a blue heron rookery near us that I have never been to. Now I really want to go and try to get some pics, too.
