Found on the street in NYC, bleeding from its beak

Found this bird on the street in NYC, bleeding from its beak. It looks like it could do with help, and I am unable to do anything since I am unable to identify it correctly.

I don't know anything about this bird ... tried looking at photos elsewhere online and, to my untrained eyes, this looks like some sort of a sandpiper/dunlin or some such bird. I would love it if someone could help by correctly identifying it.

Poor thing. If possible, please try to get this bird to a Bird Rehabilitation Center.
