It is definitely not a fledgling Canadian Goose, they are solid gray. I spent all afternoon Monday sitting in a park surrounded by several families as they ate my seed. But I don't know what it is, it does look like it could be a duck of some sorts possibly?. I would suggest you put it back where you found it so it can have a chance of surviving.

Well, it is beautiful! It sort of reminds me of some baby Canadian geese pictures I took a few weeks ago. They were younger and not as dark. I wish I knew what this one is. I hope someone knows!
