Flicker Eats all our Suet

We have a male and female Flicker that show up every day to eat out of our suet feeder. The male hangs from the feeder and makes a mess of the suet, and the female eats what hits the ground. Also, the Western Blue Birds that are nesting in our blue bird box case off the Flicker...not sure why it thinks it's a threat.
