Finch Sized Wild Bird

Seemed like it was in shock..picked it up to see if it was OK...tiny bird, size of a finch, beautiful olive color, feathers looked like felt, tail had yellow bands on each side. Before coworker had a chance to take a picture it flew right out of my hand..I live in Tampa.

Could be a goldfinch.... they are more drab in the "winter" time around new york... will try to post a pic.
