Red-bellied Woodpeckers in my oak tree -HELP!
I have 2 Red bellied woodpeckers drilling several huge holes in one of my trees branches. It looks like one male and one female preparing to lay eggs. I have also noticed that the branch they are drilling into is losing the bark on several spots. I don't want to disturb them while they are making their babies, but I am concerned that my tree is infested with insects. When would be the best time to cut the branch off?
Not to worry - as long as the woodpeckers are there, they will devour the insects. Please let them raise their babies, first before cutting any branches.
