MY Grosbeaks LOVE this birdseed! WOW!

Ever since I've 'indulged' in the premium #2 Sunflower Chips from my local shop, my feeders are PACKED with birds- including my Grosbeaks (now a mating pair and at least one baby male and one baby female)- I have two seed feeders - one with a fine metal mesh tube surrounded by a larger metal grid tube (I suppose to deter squirrels)- and the other is a plastic tube feeder with 'ports' down the sides. The Grosbeaks prefer the 'port' feeder (since they have such stout beaks)- but they visit both. Today I saw an adult male "scold" an immature male (his son?) and take over the feeding spot on the feeder. The young one returned to the feeder once the adult had left. I can't tell you the difference using premium seed has made- I look out and have 6-7 finches, several cardinals, a grosbeak, cowbirds, titmouse, chickadees, jays, etc. at the feeders all day long- it's a real treat. Before I used the sunflower chips, I used the "premium" bird food from the local feed store and there is NO comparison. My food has NO fillers...no millet...just black-oil sunflower seeds and shelled sunflower seeds...I guess the birds know where to eat!
